Even though our computers have moved to more
reliable solid state drives, it doesn’t mean they’re infallible. However, if you are on Windows 8, the backup
process is little harder to streamline. However, on Windows 10,
Microsoft is giving you different choices to secure your data. But one
unfortunate day, disaster strikes. We started a test backup and the program
kept us up-to-date with a clear progress bar.
Add to that all
the important data and files you create on your PC, and that’s a lot of
important data you probably want to protect. As with most backup software free, this
is a program that catalogues, copies and stores data from your device.
This free application lets you create emergency disks, schedule backups
and store your backups in multiple locations. Sometimes this is effortful
because deleting this by hand takes some skill related to removing Windows
programs manually.
ShadowMaker Free
is just that; it allows you to back up your Windows OS, selected partitions, as
well as the whole disk. This is backup in its most basic form. It might
save you in a pinch, say if you accidentally delete a file. Beyond making
sure that its regular updates protect its millions of users,
it also implements a number of safety and security features into Windows
itself.
You can always
download those items again later, though if you’re ambitious enough you can
back them up as well. The data is unstructured and simple rather than complex
like system image backup data. Regular backup hard
drive assumes that you have the ability to access
folders/images upon the restore. Your hard drive will eventually die,
unfortunately, and it will take everything down with it.
